Read The Fine Print

As we start the new school year, be reminded that all secondary student Active Directory accounts
have been disabled. Therefore all middle school (6-8, not elementary 6th) and high school (9-12)
students will need to sign the OKCPS Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) in order to create their new
password for the year and gain access to district resources, such as Google Drive.

In order to eliminate the cattle call approach of years past, the Educational Technology Services
department has assembled three, standards-based lessons to guide teachers and students through
the AUP, so they can make informed choices moving forward. Each lesson is designed to take 15-20
minutes. Within the lesson, you will find a copy of the OKCPS AUP with color coded links to the
different activities.  Each activity coincides with the colored text in the AUP. Clicking the links will
prompt you to make your own copy of the lesson. None of the activities require student use of
technology.
We encourage you to present these lessons to your students PRIOR to signing the Acceptable Use
Policy. Let’s start the year by taking a proactive approach to bridging the digital divide!
